Combining fun, freedom and utility the Jeep Patriot returns for 2009 with a lot of new features and improvements. The Jeep Patriot combines all the functionality of an SUV with the fuel economy, performance, handling and price tag of a compact car or small pickup.

Available Models
Three models of the 2009 Jeep Patriot are available to choose from - the Patriot Sport, Patriot Limited and Patriot Rocky Mountain Edition.

Interior Features
The interior of the 2009 Jeep Patriot has received a newly designed instrument panel with chrome accents and feature new round heating, ventilation and air-conditioning vents. The center console has also been redesigned and features LED-illuminated cup holders and a padded armrest.

For storage needs the rear seats fold flat to create 54.2 cu. ft. cargo volume. A folding front passenger seat is standard on the Limited model and available for the Sport. This year the vinyl load floor has been replaced with a removable carpeted load floor.

Exterior Features
Visually the Jeep Patriot shares much of the characteristics as the rest of the Jeep family. Strong, rugged stance, seven slot grille, round headlights and a clamshell hood. Fascia-mounted round fog lamps are standard on Limited models and available on the Sport models.

Performance
There are two engines available for the Jeep Patriot. The standard engine is a 2.4-Liter DOHC 16-Valve I-4 with Dual VVT - it produces 172 horsepower and has an estimated EPA fuel economy that varies between 20 and 23 mpg for city driving and 22 to 28 mpg on the highways depending on which transmission and drivetrain configuration is selected.

Available for the 2WD Patriot Sport is an optional 2.0L I-4 with 158 horsepower with an estimated EPA fuel economy of 23 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on highways.

Safety and Security
The 2009 Jeep Patriot comes loaded with safety features including: Electronic Roll Mitigation (ERM), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Advanced multi-stage driver and front passenger air bags with low-risk deployment, Side-curtain air bags, Traction Control, Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) and Brake Assist.

  • 30-gigabyte hard drive for ripping as many as 6,700 songs from CD or USB memory devices in compressed format (MP3, AAC or WMA file formats)
  • JPEG photos can be loaded on to the hard drive, allowing the customer to personalize the home screen
  • Movies can be displayed on the screen for entertaining passengers when the vehicle is in Park

uconnect gps combines the features of uconnect phone and uconnect tunes with navigation and real-time traffic. The system includes an integrated voice recognition system and touch screen for easy operation
